How to Deep Clean Your Bathroom

Each room should be cleaned once in a while. This is especially true in the bathroom. The bathroom is the most frequently used space in the house so it can quickly become unsanitary. A freshly cleaned bathroom is a great way to relax and enjoy the spa-like environment.

We'll show you how to deep clean your bathroom.

1. Start with the Clutter

First, clean the bathroom counter. Clear shelves and the back of your toilet. Also, make sure you look inside the shower to get rid of any bottles that are not being used. These items can be cleaned with antibacterial spray and a towel.

You can temporarily remove any items from the counters or shelves that are not being used, such as decorations, toothbrush holders, and so forth. These items should be temporarily removed from the bathroom so you can clean them separately, and so that the space is clear for cleaning.

2. Vacuum Everything

This is an important step before you mop and scrub. Vacuum the entire floor. Use dusting attachments to clean the tops of cabinets and corners. The next steps will be easier if you remove as much dirt and dust as possible.

3. Make sure you clean your fixtures first

Before you scrub the countertops or shower walls, make sure to clean the taps, showerhead, and curtain. This step is important before you clean the countertops and shower walls.

Follow the instructions on the tag for how to wash the shower curtain. You can wash many curtains in the washer. To remove scale from your taps or showerheads, you can use a commercially prepared descaling solution. To remove limescale from the nozzles, you may need a toothpick or toothbrush. To remove soap scum, you can use an all-purpose cleaner. Finally, use a microfiber cloth to get a streak-free shine.

4. Make sure to clean the toilet

First, clean the bowl. Use a scrub brush and toilet bowl cleaner to clean the inside of the bowl. To remove lime buildup, scrub the underside of the bowl.

Use white vinegar, water, or disinfectant spray to clean the entire toilet tank, including the base. Check the covers covering the bolts holding the toilet to the ground at the base of the toilet. If possible, remove these covers. The grime underneath them can be cleaned. This will remove the dark rings that often form around these covers.

5. Make sure to clean the shower

You have many options for cleaning a shower. A fibreglass tub might require rust and scaling remover to remove any stains. Use an all-purpose cleaner, or a mixture of vinegar and water to remove soap scum. Use a commercially-prepared grout cleaner to remove grout.

Start by soaking the shower walls with your preferred cleaning product. Use the cleaner and allow it to sit for the time indicated on the packaging instructions. Next, scrub the walls with a brush, broom, or abrasive sponge. Rinse them off. Repeat this step if necessary to get rid of any remaining grime.

Use window cleaner, vinegar, water and a squeegee to clean glass shower doors. To remove soap scum, scrub the area and then squeeze out any moisture.

6. Ceilings and walls are next

You don't have to climb a ladder for this job. To reach high places, you can use a flat cloth mop or sponge mop instead. Use vinegar, water, or an all-purpose cleaner to do this job. However, avoid chemicals or bleach that could damage the paint.

Use the mop to dampen each section and then spray cleaner on it. Allow the cleaner to sit for a few minutes before you scrub. You should rinse your mop with clean water every so often, just like you would mop the floors.

7. Clean Your Sink and Counter

For the counter and sink, commercially-prepared pumice cleaners are great. You can also make your own paste using baking soda and water. Use a towel to scrub the cleaner on your countertops and basin. Be sure to pay attention to your sink drain as it can often build up a layer after repeated uses. After you are done scrubbing the cleaner, wipe it with a clean, damp cloth.

8. Cabinets and shelves

Hardwood cabinets may need to be protected against humidity by using oil soap or lemon oil. You can use an all-purpose cleaner, water and vinegar to clean your cabinets before you apply oil. All-purpose cleaners will be fine for painted cabinets.

Spray cabinets with the cleaning product you prefer. However, don't let moisture sit on surfaces for too long as excess moisture can cause paint or finishes to separate from the wood. Repeat the process until shelves and cabinets are spotless.

9. Deep Clean Your Floors

It is messy work. Your bathroom floors will be well-tracked by now. This is why it's important to save this task for last. You don't need to buy anything special if you want to deep clean your bathroom floors. All you need is a mop, bleach solution and a bucket.

Steam cleaning is the best way to deep clean your bathroom floors. It is easy. Turn on the warmest setting of your shower and let the steam fill the entire room. Close the bathroom door and turn off the shower. Wait for the steam to penetrate the grout and other cracks. Then, get in, mop the floor and then let the room air dry completely.

10. Clean your mirror

Your mirror may have spots from steam or other cleaning products after you've cleaned it. To remove streaks and spots from your mirror, dry it with window cleaner.

This is how you deep clean your bathroom. After you have finished cleaning the mirror, decorate the space and return any items that were removed from the countertops and shelves. You can then relax and enjoy the clean, fresh bathroom.
